Swimsuits for your body type

Summer is fast approaching, and no summer wardrobe is complete without a killer swimsuit. Shopping for swimwear can be difficult because we expect so much out of so little fabric. It needs to support, hide, highlight, complement AND look good. Luckily swimwear has come a long way and there’s something out there for everyone.

All the items shown below are from www.beachbunnyswimwear.com

If you are:

Carrying extra weight in your midsection: Your most flattering suit will be a onepiece or tankini. Avoid stripes and light colors, for the ultimate slimming effect opt for a dark neutral or small print.

Busty or top heavy: Support, Support, Support. You don’t want a wardrobe malfunction at the pool. Halters and tops with underwire support will help you control the girls. If you want to minimize the appearance of your breast, opt for a darker top and avoid any embellishments or ruffles.

Small Breast: Can get away with the majority of bathing suit tops. Bandeau tops and tiny triangle tops were made for you. If you want the appearance of larger breasts, opt for tops with embellishments, ruffles and bright colors. Avoid tops that provide full coverage or too much fabric, as they can swallow your boobs

Short Torso: The key is to lift and lower. Lift your breast, and lower your waistline. Low-rise and nude color bottoms will add inches to your waist

Large/Small Bottom: To minimize the size of your bottom, draw attention up. Follow tips for small breast, and pair those tops with simple bottoms that are a shade darker than top. Avoid bottom embellishments and boy shorts.

Conversely, to add visual interest to you butt, embellish and opt for light colors and/or shirred fabric.

More tips;

  • Don’t be afraid to mix and match, or look for separates.
  • A classic black or white bikini never goes out of style
  • Add old jewelry and necklaces for custom looking pieces.
  • Remove or add padding as needed.
