Fashion do over: Frankie

fashion redoPhoto: Freddy O

This week we are making over Frankie, Keyshia Cole’s mother. Anyone who has seen or met her, knows that she is full of energy and does not act or dress like a granny of 5. In the photo she is seen wearing a zebra print cut out jumper, boots, and a statement necklace. Even if you are forever 21 at heart, there are better ways to express your youth. Like this for example:

Frankie Makeover
Frankie Makeover by The Style Aficionado featuring Arden B
Items in this set:
EMU Australia Third Reef Bomber Jacket – Black, $385
Zebra Print Hanky Hem Halter Dress, $78
Sass & Bide Black Rats leggings, $180
Ombre Bangle, 8 GBP
Alexander McQueen | Peep-toe ankle boots | NET-A-PORTER.COM, $1,155

Stark black and white zebra print looks cheap. Notice the brown in the Arden B top shown above. This top is a much better alternative to the jumper. The deep V neckline and flowy gathering in the front is feminine and sexy in a modest way. Paired with the leather leggings, booties, and motorcycle jacket [optional], this outfit is edgy and age appropriate (remember to support the girls). BTW, Women of a certain age should keep their midriff to themselves and their significant other. In keeping with your pop of color, instead of a teal watch, we layered teal bangles as a statement piece. We suggest only wearing one piece of statement jewelry, which is why we omitted the necklace, but you could easily omit the bangles and add a necklace.

So, Frankie, I will grant you a do over if you would PLEASE burn the above ensemble. Yes, burn and not donate, because I don’t want to see anyone else in that outfit, and keep the above tips in mind the next time you want to wear a bold print.

  1. Well, I like her, she has attitude towards unawareness about her aged.As long as she is comfortable with the dress then so be it. Maybe to others, this is not appropriate dress code at her aged now,but she feels comfortable with this kind of outfit. If you see signs in her that she listens to what others saying about the dress, then it’s time to reprimand her about her style of dressing, it’s awkward!

I would not want to be seen in public with her
