Caster Semenya’s New look
The accomplished track star under went a lot of scrutiny last month with allegations that she was in fact a he. The 18 year old South African track star previously sported cornrows, baggy pants, and a very masculine physique. Here she is shown in a designer black dress, jewels, nail polish and a more feminine hair style. No one can argue that she doesn’t look more feminine, but I am not convinced. I will need to see her live and in motion to see if she is truly comfortable with her new look. Her stylist did a great job ‘girl-ing’ her up, however if I were her stylist for this shoot I would have made a few changes.
Primarily, the dress. The neckline on this dress is wrong. If the goal was to make her look less masculine, the stylist should have opted for a V-Neck. The square neckline mimics the box -iness of her broad shoulders. The thick black straps, and their position is right, I just wish they would have fell into a V-neck. A black is always a good choice, but I would like to see more feminine colors or material. On the average woman with broad shoulders, I would have stopped at the v-neck, however for Caster a lace or silk would have softened her muscular build even more. Also, the structured necklace could have been swapped for a more dainty one or a omitted completely.
What do you guys think of her new look? what would you change? I wonder if she can walk in heels.
